What are digital rights and responsibilities?
The definition of digital rights and responsibilities is having the right and freedom to use all types of digital technology while using the technology in an acceptable and appropriate manner. As a user of digital technology, you also have the right to privacy and the freedom of personal expression (Ribble, 2007).

As teachers you need to be sure that all students fully understand the school's Acceptable Use Policy (AUP), so that as technology users they know they are being held accountable and are responsible for their actions. Each school's AUP are modified to meet each circumstance. However, if a school does not have and AUP in place then it is their responsibility if the students are inappropriate with the use of technology at school
(Ribble, 2007).

- Responsibility to model and teach student expectations of technology use
- Responsibility to keep data/information safe from hackers
- Responsibility not to falsify our identity in any way
